Origin of the CSG e.V.
The origins of the CSG date back to the winter semester of 2001/02, when some of the later founding members began their chemistry studies at the University of Bayreuth. Even back then, there was a strong sense of community, which has developed over the years and now strongly characterises everyday chemistry life on campus. In the course of their studies, they always looked for opportunities to combine fun and chemistry. Ideas that were initially conceived in a relaxed atmosphere were developed further over time and led to the organisation of the first Graduate Day in the Department of Chemistry in 2007. The main trigger was also the desire for sustainable development for active members and alumni as well as the organisation of an annual graduate ball to honour a hard course of study.
In order to provide a clear and structured point of contact for Bayreuth's chemists in the future, we decided to found the association in August 2008.
