Chemistry Graduate Day

The CSG's biggest event - Graduates' Day - takes place every year in June/July. Graduates meet with their relatives, friends and acquaintances in a festive atmosphere to celebrate the degrees (Bachelor's, Master's or PhD) they have achieved in the past year.

The CSG e.V. invites a keynote speaker to give a popular science lecture on topics such as "From beer to the first hangover", "Sparkling wine - also sparkling in science" or "The path from graduate to science journalist".
Following the sumptuous buffet, the graduates are honoured with the traditional Bachelorkrügla, Graduiertenseidla and Promotionskrügla. The best graduates of the year also receive prize money provided by the Otto Warburg Chemistry Foundation.

In order to draw pupils' attention to studying chemistry at the University of Bayreuth, the CSG e.V. also traditionally awards the prize for the best seminar paper in Upper Franconia on this evening.

The official part of the event traditionally ends with an impressive fireworks display. A shuttle bus then takes the guests to the after-show party in Bayreuth city centre, where the celebrating crowd dances to the music until the early hours of the morning.
